I know I am 2 days late on this issue about the #DonaldSterling of the #Clippers. But after listening to the audio this is a perfect example of what I’ve been preaching for years.

People go on and on and try to make the point that \”racism is alive and well\” and \”you need to watch (insert different race here)\”, but if you actually look around you will see that the majority of the racism in the news are generally people who are from the older generation. Whether is #DonImus, or +Paula Deen or this guy, You will notice that most of the younger generation usually do not have problems with racism. Many of us grew up with other races and its just a non-issue for most of us in this generation as well as the next one coming up after us.

I believe this is an issue that will just die with time. As the previous generation dies off, so do the problems of that generation usually. People will argue and say \”well look at the justice system! that hasn’t changed!\” and my response to them is, \”when is the last time you seen a 20 year old judge?\” This has to do with generation.

On to the actual incident.
After listening to the recording, assuming that it hadn’t been doctored in anyway, I walk away with the understanding that this guy was more concerned with his reputation among his friends and people in his circles than he was actually upset with her for actually being pictured with them.

I don’t think he should have to \”pay a fine\” and be \”banned\”.  The punishment comes when people stop listening to the individual and stop supporting the individual. But I hate the \”witch hunt\” mentality of the American media and just wish they would go back to reporting the real news and not this gossip stuff. None of our lives were affected by Donald Sterling’s private conversation.

Furthermore, where did this recording take place? I thought California was a Two-Party Consent State. So shouldn’t someone be getting sued soon, right?

I would love to hear your opinions and have a spirited debate about this. Maybe I could learn something new from it.

Leave your response in the comments and i’ll respond as well.

In the event you haven’t heard about this, here is a link to the recording at Deadspin.
